Travel itinerary

Day 1
AMMAN – DEAD SEA  Arrival at Amman International Airport. Welcome and transfer to the Jordanian side of the Dead Sea.
Day 2
Breakfast
JERASH  After breakfast, begin your panoramic city tour of Amman; wander among original temples, theatres and plazas all enclosed within the city’s walls. Then proceed to the ancient city of Jerash, the most complete and well-preserved city of the Roman Empire.
Day 3
Breakfast
MADABA – MOUNT NEBO  After breakfast meet your driver and visit the mosaic city of Madaba, where the oldest map of the Holy Land exists on the floor of Saint George’s Church. After Madaba, a short drive will bring you to Mt. Nebo, the alleged burial site of Moses overlooking the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea.  After the tour, transfer back to your hotel. 
Day 4
Breakfast
DEAD SEA – PETRA   Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before checking out.  Transfer to your hotel in Petra and overnight.
Day 5
Breakfast / Lunch
PETRA  After breakfast, start your tour of Petra, the 8th wonder of the ancient world and Jordan’s most valuable treasure.  A unique city, carved into the sheer rock face by the Nabataens, industrious people who settled there more than 2000 years ago, turning it into an important junction for the silk, spice and other trade routes which linked China, India and southern Arabia with Israel, Egypt, Syria Greece and Rome.  Lunch at a local restaurant and transfer back to your hotel for overnight. 
Day 6
Breakfast / Lunch
WADI RUM  After breakfast, transfer to the magical desert of Wadi Rum, home of “Lawrence of Arabia”.  Upon arrival, jump into one of the jeeps owned by the local Bedouins, for a trip into the many sites in a moon-like landscaped desert.  Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and transfer to the Arava Border Crossing with Israel.
Day 7

PETRA – EILAT – JERUSALEM  Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before checking out. Transfer to Arava Crossing to Eilat and on to the airport for your flight to Ben Gurion Airport.  Upon arrival, you will be met by our local representative and transferred to your hotel in Jerusalem. Overnight .
Day 8
Breakfast
JERUSALEM (OLD CITY) Start the day with a magnificent panoramic view from Mount of Olives.  Drive to the Old City; visit the Tomb of King David and the Room of Last Supper on Mt. Zion.  Enter the walled city and walk through the newly restored Jewish quarter.  Visit the Roman Cardo, the Herodian quarter and continue to the Western Wall.  Walk along the Via Dolorosa to the Church of Holy Sepulchre.  Continue to Bethlehem*; view Rachel’s Tomb and proceed to visit the Church of  Nativity and Manger’s Square. Overnight in Jerusalem.
Day 9
Breakfast / Dinner

JERUSALEM (NEW CITY) After breakfast, drive to the Israel Museum; visit the Shrine of the Book, where the Dead Sea scrolls are housed, and the miniature model of Jerusalem as it was during the Second Temple period.  Enjoy a tour at the Knesset, Israel’s parliament. Continue to visit Mount Hertzel cemetery and Yad Vashem, the memorial to the Holocaust.  Drive through Mea Shearim, the ultra orthodox neighbourhood in Jerusalem and learn about their unique lifestyle.  In the evening enjoy a middle eastern dinner followed by the spectacular “Sound & Light” show** at the Tower of David Museum. Overnight in Jerusalem. 

Day 10
Breakfast

QUMERAN – MASADA – DEAD SEA – TEL AVIV Drive through the Judean desert to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, almost 1300 feet (400 meters) below sea level.  Stop at Qumeran to visit the site where the Dead Sea scrolls were found.  Drive along the shores of the Dead Sea to Masada.  Ascend by cable car and tour the ancient fortress where the Zealots made their last stand against the Romans before committing mass suicide in 73 AD.  Descend by cable car.  Continue to the Dead Sea and cover yourself with the mineral rich mud and experience a swim in the Dead Sea with therapeutic effects. Overnight in Tel-Aviv.

Day 12
Breakfast / Lunch

CAESAREA – MEGIDDO –  DRUZE VILLAGE – HAIFA  Drive along the coastal plain to Caesarea, once the Roman capital of the region.  See the excavations of the Crusaders’ city and the Roman port, aqueduct and the amphitheater that has been restored to its former glory as a concert venue.  Proceed to Megiddo, identified as the site of Armageddon; visit the archaeological excavations including the well-preserved water supply system.  Continue to Daliat-el-Carmel, a Druze village and enjoy a late lunch at a local restaurant.  Proceed via Mount Carmel to Haifa for a panoramic view of the Haifa bay and the Golden domed Bahai shrine and gardens.  Overnight in a Kibbutz guesthouse.

Day 13
Breakfast / Dinner

SAFED – GOLAN HEIGHTS  Drive to Safed, the center of Jewish mysticism, where you will visit the ancient synagogues and the artists’ colony.  Continue to the Golan Heights to see the former Syrian bunkers, Kuneitra and the new Israeli town of Katzrin.  Stop at the Golan Winery for a tour and wine tasting.  Proceed to “Golan Magic” for a multimedia presentation of the area and its history. Overnight in a Kibbutz guesthouse.

Day 14
Breakfast

SEA OF GALILEE – NAZARETH – TEL AVIV  Start the day with a visit to Nazareth.  Visit  the Church of Annunciation and continue to Tiberias. Visit Capernaum to see the ruins of the synagogue and octagonal Church of St. Peter.  Visit Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus delivered the sermon on the mount.  Drive, via Beit Shean, to Beit Alpha to see the remains of the mosaic floor of an ancient synagogue depicting the zodiac. Overnight in Tel Aviv.

Day 15
Breakfast

TEL AVIV – HOME  After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
