LIMA  After breakfast at your hotel, enjoy a memorable day in the captivating capital of Peru. Enjoy a private afternoon city tour featuring the Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace, the 17th-century Baroque Cathedral and Church of San Francisco and the Palacio de Torre Tagle, Lima’s most elegant colonial mansion. Also visit the Larco Herrera Museum. Take the rest of your day to explore on your own.

LIMA – AREQUIPA After breakfast, meet your driver who will transfer you to the airport to board your flight to Arequipa. Visit the colonial district of Yanahuara, and the neighbourhood of San Lázaro. Visit Santa Catalina Monastery, the most important and impressive religious monument in Peru, founded in 1579. Late afternoon, your driver will take you to the train station to board the luxurious Belmond Andean Explorer train, South America’s first luxury sleeper train. Take some time to get comfortable in your cabin and acclimatize to the indulgent atmosphere of the train as you begin your journey towards Puno. Relax and savour refined Andean dinner dishes served with contemporary flair.

LAKE TITICACA Awaken early for a spellbinding experience as you witness the sunrise across Lake Titicaca. Breakfast is served on board. Explore Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world, home to many diverse islands, each boasting a unique way of life. Take a traditional boat to Uros, a man-made island artfully constructed from interwoven reeds which are constantly being replenished. Continue your exploration to Taquile Island, notable for its stunning agricultural terraces. Enjoy lunch at Collata beach, followed by a performance from local dancers. Return to the station at the lake for delicious afternoon tea. Enjoy dinner in the dining carriage.

MARANGANI – CUZCO Breakfast is accompanied by stunning views as your train sets off from Marangani. Along the way, disembark to visit Raqch’i. Arrive in Cuzco, the former capital of the Inca empire. Transfer to the Belmond Hotel Rio Sagrado, an oasis rich with the spirit of the Incas, set in lush gardens beside the rushing Urubamba River in the Sacred Valley.

CHINCHERO, MARAS, MORAY Breakfast. Continue toward Chinchero village, famous for the extraordinary beauty and quality of its textiles. Head towards the Salt Pans of Maras, an operational salt mine in use since the times of the Inca. Continue to the archaeological site of Moray, famous for its system of circular terraces. Enjoy lunch at the Huayoccari Hacienda, a private estate, for a fascinating off-the-beaten-path experience. Return to your hotel for overnight.

MACHU PICCHU After breakfast, board the luxurious Belmond Hiram Bingham train, which will take you to the town of Machu Picchu Pueblo. Upon arrival, board a bus to the entrance of the Machu Picchu citadel, a spectacular natural landscape that will take your breath away. Follow in the footsteps of the ancient Incas as you explore this magical citadel along with your guide. Enjoy afternoon tea and dinner at the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge, the only hotel located at the entrance to Machu Picchu, where you will overnight.

MACHU PICCHU – CUZCO Wake up early for an epic sunrise at Machu Picchu. Explore the site on your own without a guide. Enjoy buffet lunch at the hotel. Return to Machu Picchu Pueblo, from where you will board the Hiram Bingham train return to Cuzco with a delicious dinner on board. Upon arrival in Cuzco, transfer to the Belmond Hotel Monasterio, a hotel teaming with historic charm and a modern twist.

CUZCO Breakfast. Begin exploration of the Imperial City with a visit to one of the most impressive buildings of Incan Cusco, the Golden Temple of Korikancha. See the Main Square and nearby ruins of Tambomachay, Kenko, Puca-Pucara and finally the colossal fortress of Sacsayhuaman.
